LEDs for Commercial Applications finally approved under the VEET scheme

For months we have been waiting for the Victorian Government to make amendments to the VEET scheme and finally as of the 16th May 2012, commercial lighting is now eligible to create VEECs.

Currently only approved products may be used generate Victorian Energy Efficiency Certificates by retrofit or replacement of existing lighting fixtures where energy savings are achieved.

Thus far our most popular change over LEDs are the Chamaeleon by enLighten for replacement of fluorescent light fixtures in low occupancy areas, and the Brightgreen DR700 to replace 50W halogens with no additional hardware or electricians required.

We expect to see a significant volume of commercial properties take up this opportunity in Victoria and as well in NSW with their Energy Saving Scheme. There will be significant energy reductions bringing Australia closer towards our energy efficiency target.
